Gerdau is currently seeking a Controls Technician for its Monroe, MI facility.

Responsibilities:
A broad range of specialized and complex duties including installation, modification, monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of highly automated industrial control equipment.
Strong understanding of various operating systems and software utilized within programmable logic control (PLC) systems and human machine interfaces (HMI).
Design, plan, install and maintain a variety of industrial control equipment and instrumentation such as loop controls; variable frequency drives; control panels; load balancing; complex electrical circuits; and work with related diagnostic equipment including: digital volt meters, data recorders, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and other tools and equipment


Requirements:
Associates preferred; pursuing degree acceptable, or 6 years of experience.
Experience (minimum years and specific type): minimum 6 years combined schooling and industrial/applied military exp.
Strong machine electrical background, new build and debug, or maintenance. Hard wire, digital and analog I/O knowledge, and the ability to read electrical prints.
Proven PLC Programming experience - Allen Bradley RS 5000 a must. Siemens PLC Programming experience a plus, with networking (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc) experience desired. PLC background requires writing, debugging, developing and troubleshooting PLC's.
Computer skills - Windows XP & Windows 7 environment, ability to work within the Bios, load and setup various software, all Microsoft software products. Must be able to work in adverse working conditions such as heat, wet, cold, noise, etc.
Candidates must work well with others in a team environment
Candidates need to be available to work Shift work, 12 hour shift, four on/four off schedule after nine months of day shift on-boarding. Will need to work weekends and holidays as needed.


PREFERRED SKILLS:
PLC programming experience (Modicon, Automate, Direct Logic, etc)
HMI Programming experience - Wonder Ware preferred, but any HMI programming is a plus
Ability to build a computer from parts and fully commission it.
Any security camera system installation and debug experience
AutoCAD experience
Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens Variable Frequency Drives
Environmental controls and instrumentation experience
Any radio type troubleshooting
Previous industrial setting experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
