1.1 Maintenance Manager
2.0 Job Summary
2.1 Directs and coordinates, through reporting teammates, activities of workers engaged in daily repair and maintenance of all injection molding machines and supporting equipment. Coordinates improvements and works with Process Engineering to ensure optimum level of manufacturing. Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with advance manufacturing engineering. Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies required for operations. May initiate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge or transfer. Directs training required to maintain a competent workforce.
3.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
3.1 Manages and leads a group of maintenance journeymen and apprentices.
3.2 Executes assignments related to maintenance of machinery and equipment; including preventive maintenance, planned and emergency maintenance, supervises the activities of skilled employees and assures the accomplishment of the assigned tasks.
3.3 Responsible for relocating machinery and/or equipment; dismantling and removing obsolete or worn out machinery and/or equipment.
3.4 Plans the performance of preventative maintenance activities based upon personal knowledge and interval records of equipment wear and the manufacturers recommendations regarding service. Schedules and coordinates the accomplishment of this work to minimize interference with production operations.
3.5 Develops and maintains key, preferred suppliers and spare part inventories. Schedules incoming materials for planned maintenance activities.
3.6 Schedules work to prevent idle time and to provide maximum machine utilization. Schedules overtime work among maintenance employees to equalize overtime fairly. Determines priority of maintenance job back-log and schedules work accomplished. Schedules vacations in such a manner to not interfere with necessary maintenance.
3.7 Responsible for up-grading the effectiveness of maintenance personnel. Schedules and conducts meetings with instructions relating to maintenance skills, safety, and Company Policy. Handles all job-related problems in maintenance honestly and fairly without violation of Company Policies or Procedures.
3.8 Responsible for reporting personnel evaluations; accessing effectiveness of technical abilities, team working skills, leadership potential while providing career guidance / Smart Goals in-line with Operational Plans ( I.e.: Cost Reduction Goals, Quality-Delivery-Cost of Launch Performance, Safety, On-time Evaluations.)
3.9 Models an appropriate leadership behavior (I.e.: Mentoring/Coaching through groups or 1 on 1's, influential within supporting groups and operations, walks their (well planned) talk, accepts and encourages diversity in skills / culture, maintains accountability consistently.
3.10 10. Can effectively develop personnel in technical execution, planning and decision making which can impact the business financials.

4.0 Education / Experience / Skills
4.1 High School diploma or equivalent
4.2 Completion of formal apprenticeship program resulting rank of Maintenance Journeymen.
4.3 Proven leadership skills
4.4 Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance.
4.5 Must be capable of communication in oral and written form and must possess the ability to supervise and motivate employees in a team environment.
4.6 Understanding of injection molding processing, including scientific molding concepts.
4.7 Must have a expert working knowledge of all machine components and integration.
4.8 Hands on experience with injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
4.9 Proven mechanical aptitude for analytical problem solving
4.10 Basic Microsoft programs (Excel, Word) & handling email.
4.11 Working with engineering and quality to address problem areas and collectively come up and implement solutions.
4.12 Must be knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic system.
4.13 Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical prints.
4.14 Must have specific strength in electrical/electronic areas as relating to applications and programming of PC/PLC.
4.15 Has the ability to weld as required.
4.16 Proficient in using hand tools of the trade
4.17 Has the ability to fabricate in relation to modifications of existing equipment and implementation of new designs.
