Our Metro Detroit client is seeking a Network Engineer for a direct-hire position.
Job Description: This position is responsible for maintenance and development aspects of the enterprise-wide computing environment in the US and Mexico region, to ensure a reliable and scalable computing platform that supports the current and future needs of the business. The Network Engineer will be relied upon to provide input on technology subjects, hands-on hardware and software skills, and administrative duties. Works under the direction of the Network Operations Manager and is responsible for maintenance and development of all technology infrastructure; network LAN/WAN and data center operations, servers, and storage; IT architecture, recommendations and engineering ideas; data, unified communications and audio/visual. Assist with creation of the security policy and network operations procedures in general. Take part in updating the disaster recovery plan and procedures. Job
Responsibilities:
Routinely interacts with employees across the enterprise in an effort to understand their needs, and relentlessly strives to provide solutions to opportunities for improvement
Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration, installation, upgrades and performance enhancements
Maintains LAN/WAN network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, switches, firewalls, and wiring. Recommends standards for network related hardware and software across the organization
Responsible for the routine monitoring of network stability, review hardware error logs, memory and CPU usage, establish performance criteria, perform hardware firmware upgrades, and software patches
Participates in network operations on-call schedule and department operational responsibilities for data archive and backup rotation
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years Network Engineer experience - plan, design, configuration and support in multiplatform environments.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Negotiation skills with vendors for maintenance contracts and pricing
Work efficiently to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure
Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills, work under minimal supervision
Must be able to work well in team environment
Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan
Experience in creating network designs and diagrams
Experience creating user documentation, policies, and procedures
Experience with IT purchasing, cost evaluation and budgeting
Strong knowledge of networks and protocols such as TCP/IP and Ethernet
Good working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS from a systems administration standpoint
Windows XP/7 workstations and server administration using Sever 2003/2008 Active Directory
Microsoft Group Policy experience
Web server administration using Microsoft IIS 6.0 or higher
Mail server administration using Exchange 2010
Internet firewall administration using Checkpoint Smart Dashboard
Experience with WAN technologies, such as MPLS, VPLS, and DS1/DS3
Experience with configuring VPN tunnels
Experience with Microsoft Terminal Services.emote Desktop Services
Experience with all aspects of Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway / Web-Sense
Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, wireless, and switches
Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting VM-Ware ESX/ESXI 4 with V-Center
Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting HP Blade and EVA Fiber Channel SAN
Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting HP RP2400''s using HP-UX
Experience with network management software, IP-Monitor, Network Observer, Wire-Shark

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
