The Materials Planner / Scheduler is responsible for tactical planning, mid-to-long range production planning, capacity planning, development and execution of the weekly/daily schedule. The
position
is responsible to prepare the master production plan, determine resource capacity plan and determine the required detailed part production schedule balancing the delivery, inventory and productivity objectives of the Business unit. They will be responsible to maintain the systems and for the information flow, process flow and communication of the schedules and master production plan. Tools to be utilized will be Manugistics /Cullinet /SAP.
Evaluate monthly history and develop accurate monthly master plans for Aftermarket production builds
Advise management of critical capacity trend changes situations and take corrective actions
Manage schedule and work with Marketing / sales on all new business, promotions, trailer load programs and price changes to assure program timings are met.
Establish new sku parameters and maintain all numbers DRP and CPP numbers on required systems.
Develop a working relationship with the Plants, Marketing, Sales and Finance.
Develop production requirements for weekly and daily schedules for assigned production lines.
Establish and maintain inventory and production line parameters in DRP and Scheduling system.
Assure Monthly requirements plan is entered into the appropriate MRP system.
Perform reconciliation and manage exceptions.
Develop and participate in launch / update teams with Engineering marketing or sales as operations representative.
Develop inventory replenishment plans for out offsite DC and implement appropriate targets in Manugistics.
Review planned requirements and generate production requirements by part number to the plants (Cullinet/Sap).
Review regularly fill rate issues and weekly key account orders for critical shortages and take corrective actions by expediting orders and updating planning parameters.
Communicate production plan to Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) or other departments as necessary.
Coordinate and assist in expediting component issues with GSCM effecting finished goods inventory and schedules as assigned.
Verify that all shipments from manufactures are on schedule to meet distributions demands.
Monitor stock for slow moving and take action to maintain appropriate systems and manage inventory down.
Participate on assigned team meetings. Contribute to the Total Value Management (TVM) program.
Contribute to company s continuous quality improvement processes.
Contribute to departmental goals and objectives.
Contribute to company productivity by performing temporary assignments as required, given adequate safety and operational instructions.

Required Skills
Previous inventory planning / scheduling experience.
Analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of forecasting, DRP and MRP systems required
Must be a team player, and understand relationship between Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Distribution and Finance.

Required Experience
B.S Degree in related business or technical discipline.
A minimum of three years materials experience.
Analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of forecasting, DRP and MRP systems required, (Manugistics expertise is a plus!)
Must be proficient in MS Excel and MS Office modules

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
